It is believed to have original 22, 700 miles with all it's original paint making This ULTRA -LOW MILE 1978 Carmine Red Camaro Z-28 with Factory Camel Interior a TRUE SURVIVOR. Seats and interior panels look exceptional. In 1978 there were really only 3 American Muscle Cars worth having and this was one of them. This one's set up from factory to run w The Trans -Ams and The Corvettes of its day . It's got the 185 HP. 350cu in LM-1. V8 w Torque rating of 280, (California only got the 175 HP Automatic), By the way, this Classic automobile passed California emissions testing w no issues whatsoever. Options include the factory installed 8-track AM, FM radio (UM-2) that's still fully functional. In fact, Everything on this car works, save maybe the the electric clock which runs but doesn't keep accurate time. The Exterior is excellent but not flawless. The paint shines like a show room vehicle. I believe this baby has most, if not all its original paint which I was told shows no evidence of repaint and appropriate depth of a newer car. There is one fine scratch in the paint, Remember it's only original once and in this case not worth re painting. Please slowly view all photos. I had the original carburetor professionally rebuilt, Also no expense spared for new exhaust approximate $600. Apart from exhausts, this car is bone stock. All Matching #'s throughout. Absolute #'s matching ORIGINAL Motor stamp # V0676 CHS on engine block pad and matching engine code # 18N622182. Please refer to Nasty Z28.com website for more info.
This automobile was purchased on E -bay from a collection of among 4 extremely low mileage 1978/1979 Camaro Z-28's and a 71' Firebird Trans Am and this was the only 4-speed, so I had to have it. I was told it was a well maintained Ohio car that rarely if ever left collector's warehouse for years. The mileage and originality of the car reflect this. I have kept mileage low in my 3 year ownership. It runs like you would expect a freshly tuned Z-28 showing 22,700 Miles on the odometer to run. Mechanic couldn't believe how good the engine compartment looked when he rebuilt the Carburetor and told me this car was fully consistent with the miles showing on the odometer . This car has been driven approximately 800 miles over the past 3 years. Driven easy Sunday miles by only 1 adult driver. This is a terrific, original, unmolested example of a second generation Camaro Z 28 that is appreciating.
1978 was the Era of Muscle Car Refinement. This car handles as such. It provides loads of torque and traction but not at the expense of handling. All 1978 z-28s got new lower control arm bracing to improve chassis stiffness and redesigned rear spring shackles to improve Stability. Car starts easily and shifts crisply. Car Stops Excellent via its Power Brakes and turns and handles with its responsive 36 year old power steering. Motor has that throaty roar that we all crave.
These late 1970s cars are extremely difficult to find in this original, low mileage condtion.
