This little Malibu was purchased new in Gresham, Oregon and has resided in
Oregon its entire life. I have many of the old registrations and the original
Protect-O-Plate.
I purchased it from a one family owner in August 2013. Just under 124,000
original miles on the original numbers matching 283 and Powerglide transmission.
The only body damage was on the left rear quarter panel (due to Grandma running into the car with a mower). When the quarter panel was repaired she decided to have the entire car re-sprayed (although the grandson said it didn't need it).
The re-paint was done in 2000.
The only rust in the car is some surface rust and a couple of small holes
inside the trunk due to a water bottle that froze and broke when the car was
stored for the winter. Other than that, this car is extremely straight, correct
and original.
Since purchasing the car, I have completely rebuilt the front suspension with:
New upper and lower ball joints
New upper and lower control arm bushings
All new front brakes, shoes, hardware, wheel cylinders, drums turned
wheel bearings repacked, new seals
New inner and outer tie rod ends
Aligned at Les Schwab
All of the following have been powder coated and carefully replaced:
Inner fenders
upper and lower control arms
sway bar
backing plates
air cleaner
coil springs
New long life Napa battery
New battery tray
Recent tune up with new belts, plugs, plug wires, PCV valve, valves set
oil was just changed with zinc additive added
Previous owner had replaced the alternator and radiator.
Items to be fixed:
Left turn signal does not cancel
Heater control levers need to be replaced (have new)
Driver's side lower hinge needs to be replaced - door does not stay open (have
new)
I have a complete set of 14" wheels/tires and hub caps that go with the car.
My plan was to restore the car to its original condition, but the purchase of a
1967 Chevelle SS will take the funds and time I had planned to use for this car.
