Originally, this car was a pretty basic 6 cylinder convertible Mustang… but the story doesn’t end there. It wouldn’t be fun if it did. This is a true two-owner car that has been cared for and meticulously restored and improved.
Gone is the 200 cubic inch inline 6, and in its place is a later model Fox body 5.0 liter engine that is dressed to look like a period-correct 289 cubic inch V8. It’s hooked to a 4-speed manual transmission, so getting the power to the ground is an enjoyable experience whether the top is up or down. Speaking of the top, it’s power operated, so all you have to do is unlatch the front and push a button. In a few seconds, you’ll be enjoying top-down motoring, the best kind to have in a Mustang. Weather not suitable for convertible driving? No problem. This Mustang has air conditioning. It’s the best of both worlds.
To make it more than a good looking car, when it was restored the entire suspension was gone through and replaced. The steering linkage, shocks, and everything were replaced, and it got new front disc brakes, making it a better stopping car and easier to work on. What more could you ask for?
