This is quite possibly the newest 2001 Chevrolet Silverado in existence with only 16 miles
after a total ground up mild custom restoration utilizing many components much better and
more attractive than those used in the original GM production of this truck.
Every part down to the bolts, nuts and screws is either new or restored to better than new
condition.
Nearly all mechanical components of this 2001 Chevrolet Silverado are brand new. The few
mechanical components that are not new have been rebuilt and restored to better than new
condition.
The new GM Performance 1.5,327 Engine with all new accessories (alternator, starter,
A/C compressor, power steering pump, battery, fuel injectors, intake manifold, throttle
body, air intake, sensors, etc.) generating an estimated 360 hp (based on identical
engine dyno tests) is a far better engine than the original equipment LM7 285 hp engine.
The new GM Performance 4L65E transmission with five planetary gears and hardened
shafts and a performance torque converter is much stronger than the original equipment
4L60E transmission,
The complete new brake system with stainless steel lines and braided hoses, Bosch
Rotors, and higher quality calipers is far superior to the original metal brake lines,
standard rotors and stock calipers.
The all new fuel system including a new fuel tank, advanced design fuel pump, sending
unit, improved vent valve system, higher flow throttle body and Delphi fuel injectors is
much more efficient than the original standard fuel system.
The new suspension with Ground Force spindles and shackles, Moog front hubs and
premium Monroe shock absorbers provides a mildly lower perfectly level stance that is
not only better than the original suspension but is significantly more attractive.
The new air conditioning system with a heavy duty compressor, condenser, and
polished aluminum lines and evacuator are better and more attractive than the original
air conditioning system.
All body panels and parts with the slightest defect were replaced with new parts. The body
parts that were not replaced were refinished and restored to better than new condition.
Nearly all new front end including, a new steel cowl induction hood with new liner,
new premium chrome bumper, new GM chrome grill with billet aluminum bars and
bow-tie, custom built steel lower valance, new painted upper bumper cover, new GM
inner fenders and all new headlights and park lights.
New heavy duty rocker panels, new bed side, new roll pan, new GM door hardware,
all new door rubber components and new Street Scene mirrors were installed. New
custom tail lights, new third brake light and chrome door and tail gate handles.
The new high quality body finish is a custom light sensitive red color (Ferrari Red in bright sun
transitions to a deep burgundy in low light) that took three months to formulate and three
months to apply over the meticulously prepared metal finished body.
Every panel was fully primed and sealed prior to painting the base coats and clear coats.
After the paint had thoroughly dried, it was hand wet sanded and buffed proving a
much smoother finish with greater color depth than the original factory finish.
The under side of the body and bed and the entire frame were refinished in semi-gloss
black after a triple cleaning which is much better and far more durable than the factory
light coat finish.
All new glass (windshield, side windows and back glass) was installed.
The new interior including new GM carpet, steering wheel, kick panels, glove box, jack cover
and other components as well as new high quality GM fabric on custom seats in a graphite
color provides a striking attractive contrast to the red exterior.
The new GM special order 20" chrome plated aluminum 6 spoke wheels with new Toyo Proxes
SS 255/50R20 directional tires are much higher quality and more attractive than the standard
original equipment 16" wheels and tires.
The all new Magnaflow stainless steel exhaust system including "Y" header pipes, high flow
catalytic converters, muffler, exhaust pipes, clamps and polished aluminum exhaust manifold
shields not only look much better than original equipment but also provide an addition 20 hp.
These are some of the highlights of this meticulously restored truck with significant attention
being given to even the smallest details.
