1952 BSA - Auction - Newnan, GA -

A very original example of a classic British milestone motorcycle.  The M-20 saw service during the heyday of BSA's dominance in the market.  It was also the first model to bear the iconic Gold Star name.  Production began in 1937 for the single cylinder 500 c.c. sidevalve which produced 13 h.p.  Roughly 126,000 were produced for the Allied forces during WWII, production continuing after the war for both the military and civilian use.  Most military M-20s were for the British Army however some found their into the Royal Navy and Royal Air Force.  Due to their reliability, and proven low end power, production continued for military use into 1955.  This one we are offering bears the production number 83828 and the date of 13/11/52.  It has the alloy head introduced during the 1951 model year.  Smith odometer, rubber knee grips on tank,  Amal carburetor and leather saddle bags.
