![1965 Ford Mustang]()
1965 Ford Mustang - $23,995 - Atlanta, GA - This gorgeous 1965 Mustang is a lot more than just a (very) pretty face. In addition to good looks it packs a built 289 a beautifully stitched two-tone interior and what might be one of the best-fitting convertible tops we've ever seen. According to the door tag this car has been refinished in a modern equivalent of its correct code Y Silver Blue Metallic. It's almost like your eyes are thanking you for not forcing them to look at another red Mustang and they'll take a few moments to linger over the details. Note how the paint accentuates the straight crease that forms the top edge of the scoop on both sides of the car. Although this car started out with a six-cylinder engine correct 289 badges have been added to match the V8 under the hood. Fresh chrome bumpers a beautiful grille and new taillight lenses emphasize the Mustang's classic beauty that has been stopping folks in their tracks for five decades now. The two-tone interior gives this Mustang a bright disposition that invites you to drop the top and spend an afternoon cruising. Bucket seats were standard in the Mustang and these are wrapped in fresh seat covers that duplicate the factory standard patterns exactly. No Pony interior upgrade here just a classic look that truly complements the Silver Blue paint. Dark blue door panels a matching dash pad and dark blue carpets all add to the factory-fresh feel inside too. Aftermarket gauges have been tucked discreetly under the dash and a newer AM/FM/cassette radio has been installed in the original slot. And that top is simply beautifully installed-the guy who did that should get some kind of award. Yet despite its tight wrinkle-free fit it folds easily and stows neatly under a matching blue vinyl boot. So the data tag says this car originally used a wheezing 1-barrel carb atop an inline-six to get around but someone remedied that with the snarling 289 that lives there now. Beautifully finished in Ford Blue the lightly warmed-over small block is the ideal Mustang power plant. Torquey smooth and docile when you're just putting around town but able to really hustle when you need it it's easy to understand how this engine won at LeMans. It starts quickly and idles nicely and thanks to a custom dual exhaust system with turn-downs just ahead of the rear axle it sounds amazing. The chassis is spotless with fresh floors a set of 3.20 gears in the 9-inch rear and air shocks to balance the load. Magnum 500 wheels weren't available in 1965 but nobody can argue that they don't look amazing wearing 215/60/14 white-letter radials. Sometimes pretty just has to win out over popularity and this Silver Blue Mustang ragtop has beauty to spare. Call today! This vehicle is located in our Atlanta showroom.
