1960 Austin A40 - $11,400 - Poplar Grove, IL - 1960 Austin A40 Farina Saloon, Owned for 8 years, bought in 2004. Car came to Midwest from Washington State. Had car painted in 2005-the original paint had faded. Original color was used-Tartan Red. Body in great condition, Grill is original and unique. Windows are slide up and down in front and back windows open to vent position. 948CC Engine, same as found in Morris Minors and Metropolitans. 141,750 miles on car. Nice chrome. Interior original and good for seats. Chrome nice, not perfect but good. Cabin blower ineffective for hot or cold, carpet faded.
In the 8 years owned, I have replaced the clutch; Front King Pins; Tires; Brakes; Fuel Pump; Carburetor Rebuild Starter; New battery 2010; Generator rebuilt; New Headliner; Cleaned gas tank and replaced fuel pump.
Great club in the UK to assist in technical data and parts information. Have lots of literature which will also go with car.
Only about 500 of these cars in existence, most in the UK. This one was made for the US Market. Very few in the States. Will be only one at car show with one of these.
