The Ferrari 330 GT 2+2 was introduced in January of 1964. Inspiration for the styling touch has been attributed to Pininfarina’s Superfast IV, a modified version of the Ferrari 400 SA Superfast II. The 330 GT 2+2 had many improvements over the 250 2+2, while its V-12 displaced 3967cc (330cc per cylinder, hence the 330 name) - considerably more horsepower than its predecessor.
Being an Interim model, this 2+2 features the earlier styling mated to updated later mechanicals including a five-speed gearbox, disc brakes and optional Borrani wires.
Well documented with history known from new, this largely original luxury tourer with previous long-term ownership comes finished in correct burgundy lacquer over black leather upholstery. It is a long time Georgia car and has seen regular use in the same ownership since 1987. It is a “matching numbers” car and has had a lot of recent service. The mechanicals are very sound and the undercarriage and engine show the evidence of much recent work. The weak part of the car would be the paint with crazing throughout, the body is straight and gaps are good. The interior shows a nice patina with nice plush leather and a beautiful wooden steering wheel. The previous owner tastefully added functional power side mirrors.
Recent servicing includes Pertronix electronic ignitions, new thermostat and heater mechanisms, along with a complete transmission rebuild in 2010 including clutch booster and assemblies - Electrical work, rebuilt wiper motor and waterpump, electric fans and other preventative maintenance. All service records from the last 20+ years are available for further inspection.
Early V12 Ferrari’s are highly collectable and sought after - This car certainly makes a great entry into the club!
