1954 Jaguar XK-120SE - $92,000 - Santa Barbara, CA -

Offered for sale is an exceptionally clean, rust-free, well sorted and beautiful 1954 Jaguar XK120 SE Open Two Seater (OTS), finished in stunning Black over Green leather with a black canvas soft top. Just out of the William Young collection in Seattle following 13 years of ownership, the car has been fully gone through mechanically and is ready to enjoy, whether as a fabulous weekend driver or as a Jaguar Club of North America (JCNA) event participant.

Originally sold to a Mr. Jerry Dejarlais of Mount Vernon, WA, the car was used regularly until 1965, when it was put into dry storage for the better part of a decade. It was subsequently taken to a restoration shop owned by Mr. Dejarlais’s friend in 1975, however it was inexplicably left to sit in storage there for another 26 years. Mr. Young happened upon it in 2001 and, recognizing it as the low mileage, rust-free, factory Special Equipment (SE) car that it is, determined that it deserved resurrecting.

William Young has been a significant collector for the last 40 years and while his collection has included cars as notable as multiple Jaguar SS models, the ex-Constance Bennett 1933 Rolls-Royce Phantom II Special Town Car by Brewster (now valued at $3M+) and a bevy of other significant pre and post-war Rolls-Royces and Bentleys, Jaguars were always his true passion and we were fortunate enough to have acquired three of his XK120 Roadsters and his Mark V Drophead Coupe. A JCNA regional president for many years, Mr. Young always bought only the most solid examples and kept them exceptionally well maintained, as evidenced by this car’s beautiful condition.

The recipient of a comprehensive, 13-year-old quality restoration by Alan Gerard at the highly regarded Paladin Autoworks, Ltd. in Bellevue, WA, the car presents nearly as well as it did following its completion, at which point it was a fixture at JCNA events. The factory correct Black paint is not without its blemishes, but as the pictures exhibit, they are few, far between and completely insignificant in terms of taking away from the car’s substantial overall appeal. The body is entirely straight, without any evidence of bondo or accident repair and the panel fit is consistent with even gaps all around. The brightwork is in excellent shape, as are both the rubber and glass, and the chrome knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in brand new wide white wall tires.

The green leather interior is in equally clean condition, appearing virtually untouched. The seats show only the most negligible amount of wear and the carpets and interior paneling are marred by only the patina of a well-used and cared for classic. The canvas soft top is as new and the car has never been subjected to the elements, evidenced by the untainted, rust-free undercarriage. This is an entirely pure, correct and honest car, one that needs only a new owner’s garage and the same gentle use and care that it received under Mr. Young’s stewardship.

Mechanically the car is fantastic, its 3.4L engine firing up effortlessly, idling consistently and pulling strongly and smoothly through each of the original Moss gearbox’s gears. A factory Special Equipment model, the dual exhaust emits a note that this nothing if not grin-inducing. Performance accompanies with excellent, even compression and fantastic ride quality. The car brakes straight and true, the suspension is sound and the car is a joy on the road, whether tooling through town, roaring through the canyons or bombing down the highway. The car is accompanied by its original tool kit (extremely hard to find and prohibitively expensive today), as well as black side curtains (hardly used), spare wire wheel and changing tools.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an appreciating XK120 SE OTS that has all the right things going for it: beautiful cosmetic condition, a timeless and appealing color combination, excellent provenance and strong mechanicals. We considered consigning the entire collection to the Gooding and Co. auction at Amelia Island, FL this spring, but opted to sell the cars (or the entire collection) privately at what would be a significant discount compared to what examples routinely bring when crossing the auction block.

Turn-key and enjoy

Are you seeking a nicely restored early Mustang? They don’t come much cleaner than this!

This Mustang is beyond clean. It’s practically spotless. Everything about the build on this car is top notch, and it should be – it was owned by a restoration shop owner.  He dotted his I’s and crossed his T’s with the same meticulous attention to detail shown on customer cars. The bright orange paint stands out in any environment, and is sure to draw you in to this beautiful Mustang.

The interior is all re-done as well, and it looks just as good as it would have when this car rolled off the assembly line. The only hints of customization on the interior are the Hurst shifter for the 4-speed manual transmission and the Custom Autosound stereo – but even the radio is designed to look like the unit that was originally in this car, it just comes with added AM/FM support, RCA pre-amp outputs, and an auxiliary port to play all of your music from an MP3 player or cell phone, a worthy upgrade.

Under the hood is a 289 cubic inch V8 that’s been tastefully modified. It sounds wonderful, and breathes through a set of headers and Flowmaster mufflers, letting you know that there’s definitely power residing between those two front fenders. Fortunately, there  are also front disc brakes to assist in stopping, and nearly new tires to make sure you grip the road and can drive with confidence. Turn the key and take this car to a cruise in, a show, or anywhere else your heart desires. It will not disappoint you.

The underside is just as clean as the body and interior. It’s almost clean enough to eat off of, that’s how much love and attention went into the build on this Mustang. There are  service records and ownership history that date back all the way to 1994, as well. We are confident that once you see it, you will want to drive it home.

So come on down to Blue Marlin Motors USA in sunny Stuart, FL, or give us a call, to learn more about this Mustang and add it to your collection today! We finance!

1952 Jaguar XK-120 - $95,000 - Santa Barbara, CA -

Offered for sale is a strikingly beautiful, completely correct, mechanically solid, ALL numbers matching 1952 Jaguar XK120 OTS (Roadster) finished in factory correct Black over a biscuit interior, and confirmed by a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate. Finished in what is undoubtedly one of the best liveries, the spats, steel wheels and black wall tires give this car a menacing period look, offset beautifully by the ceaselessly tasteful Biscuit interior and the XK120’s gracefully swooping lines. Recently cosmetically restored, with a high quality paint job, fresh chrome and rubber and gorgeous and correct new Biscuit leather interior and Fawn convertible top, this entirely pure, “no stories” XK120 is one of the most beautifully presented roadsters we’ve ever had the pleasure of owning.

Originally distributed through Hoffman Motor Car Co. in New York, the car was originally delivered to its first owner in Connecticut, where it is believed to have remained there until 1982, when it was purchased by a doctor from South Burlington, Vermont. A serious Jaguar enthusiast (and Jaguar company shareholder), the good doctor would continue to enjoy and maintain the car for the ensuing twenty-five years until his health began to falter and the car was put into storage. In 2010 a regional collector found out about of the car through a mutual friend and, impressed with its honesty, lack of rust and complete originality (with numbers matching chassis, body, engine block, head and gearbox), he purchased it and began sorting through its mechanicals. We entered the picture when he became interested in a car we were offering at the time, and the roadster became part of a trade deal and made its way to the West Coast.

Upon receiving the car, we set about performing a comprehensive cosmetic restoration to return it to its former glory. The car received a high quality, bare-metal re-spray in factory correct Black, the brightwork was all removed and re-chromed, all of the rubber was replaced and the interior was reupholstered in timelessly beautiful and correct Biscuit leather. The Fawn convertible soft-top was replaced in the correct material and the hubcaps were re-chromed before being accented black and affixed to the original color matched steel wheels, which are wrapped in new, original spec Dunlop Roadspeed tires (a $1,500 cost). The results of these efforts is stunning, thanks in part to high quality craftsmanship, but also to the fact that it was an entirely pure, correct and honest car to begin with. The body is straight and free of any evidence of accidents with excellent panel fits and gaps, and having never been subjected to the elements, the undercarriage is untainted, rust-free and completely original.

Extensive work has been performed to make sure the car is as mechanically sound as it is beautiful. Both the original engine and gearbox have been rebuilt and less than 500 miles have been accumulated since completion. The engine work was expertly performed and included a resurfaced crank, all new bearings, new pistons, a boiled block, all new timing chains, new valves and seals, a resurfaced head, resurfaced camshafts and a new oil pump and other ancillary parts. The car also has a new clutch and throwout bearing and the brakes have been rebuilt from top to bottom with new master and wheel cylinders, new shoes and resurfaced drums. The car is mechanically fantastic, its factory original 3.4L engine firing up effortlessly, idling consistently and pulling strongly and smoothly through each of the original Moss gearbox’s gears. Performance accompanies with excellent, even compression, fantastic ride quality and no proclivity for overheating. The car brakes straight and true, the suspension is sound and it is a joy from behind the wheel, whether tooling through town, roaring through the canyons or bombing down the highway.

The car is accompanied by its original tool kit (extremely hard to find and prohibitively expensive today), as well as its spare wheel and changing tools, a file of records and the original Heritage Certificate.

This is an excellent opportunity to acquire an appreciating XK120 OTS that has everything going for it: completely original, solid and correct undercarriage, rebuilt mechanicals, gorgeous, recently restored cosmetics and (most importantly) ALL matching numbers, confirmed by both the Jaguar Daimler Heritage Certificate and the car’s original stamps and data plate. This is an entirely pure, correct and honest car, one that needs only a new owner’s garage and the same gentle use and care bestowed upon it by its prior owners to be enjoyed.

Clean, rust free Southern California 4 owner car restored 5 years ago is impressive to see or drive. Rare options include factory air conditioning, 4 speed Muncie M-21, F-41 suspension (including 1 1/8" front sway bar, boxed rear control arms, and rear frame enfourcements), bench seat, 12 bolt rear end with 3:08 ratio (and  icomes with the original 3:73 ratio) and tachometer guage package. The engine was replaced under the new vehicle warranty so it is the correct date code. Door, hood and trunk lid gaps are excellent.

This car drives, turns, and brakes as new. It is smooth shifting, vibration free, straight stopping and just a pleasure to cruise or blast around in. The only two flaws on the car are that the air conditioning needs to be recharged and there is a slight paint blemish the size of a quarter on the drivers side door near the handle.

Stk. 1828  1929 Ford Model A

Here is a fun and affordable way to enter the hot rod hobby with this 1929 Ford Model A Roadster. You'll have no problem getting noticed with its Gibbons fiberglass shell bedecked in Tangerine Orange, complete with flames down the side. If that doesn't get their attention, the sound of its vintage 327 Chevy small-block equipped with glass-packs, megaphone full exhaust and cut-out side pipes sure will. That vintage horsepower is channeled through a four-speed manual transmission and coupled to an 8" Mustang rear end with 3.25:1 gears; great for highway cruising. Keeping it real to the ground is a chromed drop-spindle axle system up front and old school leaf springs out back. Aggressive 195/70/R14 and 265/15/15 Cooper rubber wraps around 14" front and 15" rear Anson slotted mag wheels knocks the cool factor up several notches. The tan vinyl interior nicely compliments its orange exterior and the flamed billet steering wheel and green Dolphin gauges are groovy. One real neat styling feature on this rod has to be the L.E.D. turn signals built into its chromed headlights. This one owner car is ready to go and waiting for you.  Call 800-650-1055 or visit our website at www.autobarnclassiccars.com for more information. ALL VEHICLES SOLD "AS IS"
