As you can see on our site, we have been selling a lot of MGBs........five during the week of March 16th. And why not....they were great sports cars in their day and, now in the 21st century, even better. Fun cars, simple, reliuable, easy to service, and with plenty of performance in a 55-65mph environment.
And this is all a prelude to this 1976 MGB we just finished. Unquestionably the best single MGB we have ever had for sale. And, for that matter, even seen.
This car: excellent body (rust free Southern car) with show quality BRG paint, MGC bonnet (which adds a certainly degree of distinctive esthetics), virtually perfect underneath. Freshly rebuilt engine, gas flowed head, new HS6 SU carbs, 4 speed with overdrive transmission, runs and drives better than new.
Brakes: rebuilt front and rear, dual master cylinder with servo assist (aka 'power brakes'). Brakes work perfectly, light pedal, excellent braking.
Nicely detailed engine bay, excellent wiring.........and a few nice surprises
Modern heating unit replacing the original unit, air conditioning using modern rotary compressor, Oil cooler connected with Aeroquip lines. Electronic ignition, electric radiator coolng fan, modern a/c and heating controls on the dash with three speed blower.
And it continues.....all new splined hubs, center lock wire wheels, rear tube shocks, complete professional chrome bumper conversion with new bumpers, guards, grille, brackets, hardware, etc.
AND..........new tan top and boot cover, trimmed with green piping
AND..........the most lavish interior we have ever seen...custom constructed/modified wood dash all trimmed in beige to match the beige interior, far more confortable bucket seats with green center inserts, dark green carpets, matching green trunk carpeting, wood steering wheel........stereo/CD, power windows, all beautifully done and giving the 'look' of a far more expensive car.
Smooth ride, excellent handling and driving characteristics, would make a fabulous show entry, the most beautiful MGB we have ever seen.
Certainly not like any MGB we have ever seen before.
